2023 Wildland Fire Training

During the past 21 years with the assistance of partner organizations, the Massachusetts Army National Guard has sponsored and hosted wildland fire trainings at Camp Edwards. Trainings have been offered with the intent of furthering wildland fire suppression and prescribed fire capacity at Camp Edwards and among its wildland fire partner organizations.

Instructional and Logistic Support for this year’s trainings are being provided by the Massachusetts Army National Guard, Oregon Army National Guard, Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife, and Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.

• S-230, Crew Boss (Single Resource) - Blended
• S-231, Engine Boss (Single Resource) - Blended
• S-200, Initial Attack Incident Commander
• M-410, Facilitative Instructor

Nomination

Complete the registration form by midnight on Sunday, May21st, 2023. Notification of acceptance will be emailed by Friday, May 26th, 2023

Lodging and Tuition

Lodging in military barracks is available at no charge and there is no tuition fee; however, students are responsible for their own travel costs and meals.

Notes and Special Instructions

All participants must be able to pass a security screening to access Camp Edwards. All individuals enrolling in the training shall be a minimum of 18 years of age and be affiliated with an organization and attending as part of that organization, whether that is as a volunteer or employee.
