The Compact Finance Audit Committee is tasked with reviewing Compact financial transactions as a supplement and enhancement to external audits by certified public accountants. It is responsible for overseeing the accounting, grants, and financial transactions of the Compact.
Équipement et Technologie
The Equipment and Technology Working Team (ETWT) is comprised of the wildland fire equipment specialists from the member agencies. It develops, schedules, and manages field testing of equipment, check and/or resolve equipment compatibility issues amongst the member agencies, track agency equipment inventories, and set equipment exchange standards. In addition, the ETWT keeps track of new innovations in equipment and technology that can be used for wildland fire management.
The Fire Science Working Team (FSWT) is comprised of the wildland fire science specialists from the member agencies. The team is responsible for formulating fire science related plans and ensuring that the work plans are carried out. The FSWT is also responsible for developing, coordinating and managing the Compact's Remote Automated Weather Stations and support the member agency fire weather programs.

The Forest Health Working Team (FSWT) is comprised of insect and disease specialists from the member agencies. It was formed to provide Compact members with support for forest insect and disease management activities or any other forest damaging events when supplies, personnel, technical assistance, or other resources are needed across State and Provincial boundaries.
Prévention et Éducation
The Prevention and Education Working Team (PEWT) is comprised of the wildland fire prevention specialists from the member agencies. It hosts and conducts wildland fire prevention training courses for the agencies and has been developing a Fire Prevention and Education Team (FPET). The team has been deployed on a number of occasions for training and to help out on fire incidents, fire planning, and for insect infestations.
The Resource Sharing Working Team (RSWT) is comprised of a mix of wildland fire managers and aviation specialists from the member agencies. It's responsible for updating the Compact's Operations Manual. As part of this task, the RSWT strives to identify and resolve barriers to resource exchanges amongst the member agencies and with all other entities that may need or provide assistance.
The Training Working Team (TWT) is comprised of the wildland fire training specialists from the member agencies. It is responsible for developing, coordinating and managing the Annual Winter Meeting conducted in January/February. The TWT also develops, schedules, and manages several training academies throughout the year, typically in the winter, spring and fall.
Working Team Duties
- Set up and conduct regular meetings and conference calls – quarterly if practical.
- Expend funds and facilitate the completion of the WT work plans as proposed annually.
- Work with the Executive Director for any logistical and support needs throughout the year.
- Take meeting minutes and get them distributed and posted on the website within 14 days after the event.
- Ensure that the WT section of the website is current and that information is provided to update links and the WT overview.
- Take attendance at each meeting or event and provide federal match forms to the Executive Director.
- Compile and complete an Annual Report which includes the WT Accomplishments and Work Plan. The Work Plan needs to be completed and sent to the Executive Director prior to January 15 of each calendar year, for the upcoming fiscal year. The full Annual Report (work plan for upcoming fiscal year and accomplishments for the past fiscal year) needs to be completed and sent in to the Executive Director, electronically, by July 1 annually.
- Report the WT's activities (Work Plan and Accomplishments) to the Commission at the August Annual Meeting. Provide written copies of the report to all in attendance.
- Coordinate activities with other Working Teams as deemed appropriate.
- Keep the WT liaison and Executive Director informed of all WT activities and needs.
- Implement a smooth transition of the chair and vice chair by using the rotation schedule every two years at the Commission meeting.
- Ensure that cooperators, instructors and contributors to a WT event are properly thanked in writing after the event.
